Following its long tradition as a shipbuilding and shipping nation Scotland today is a leading supplier of international shipping services, which represent a vibrant and important part of the Scottish economy.

The aim of SSI is to act as a marketing platform, pressure group and
networking medium for Scottish shipping. It aims to promote the skill, expertise and experience of Scottish shipping companies to the global marketplace as well
as promoting domestic awareness and employment opportunities.

SSI intends to provide a forum for the Scottish shipping community from ship
finance to broking, from oil production to environmental damage consultants,
from salvage to the law - and founder members include Henderson Boyd
Jackson, Greenshields, Superfast Ferries and BUE Marine.

SSI Benefits will include an annual conference, networking opportunities, a
newsletter and web site and the opportunity to join a collective voice of
the industry.
